' War factory Under Houses Of Parliament.
' War factory Under Houses Of Parliament. The existence of a war factory beneath the houses of Parliament has only just been revealed. The factory which has been in operation for two and a half years is working on an important secret contract for the prosecution of the Japanese war. During its first 48 months the factory inspected and assembled more than two million shell fuse parts for the Ministry of Supply's armament inspection department. It also made weapons to counteract the flying-bomb. The factory occupies an area of about 300 square yards, one large vault and a number of passages. Photo shows: One of the Assembling shops set up in one of the passages beneath the Houses of Parliament with work in progress this morning June 2, 1945. '
