'Canada's Delegate Signs Jap Surrender. Signing the final surrender of Japan to the Allied nations, Colonel L. Moore Cosgrave, Canada's military attache in Australia, is shown here affixing his signature to the historic document. Behind Col. Cosgrave stands General MacArthur, Supreme Allied Commander in the Pacific, and facing them are the Japanese delegates. The ceremony took place on September 2nd, on Admiral Halsey's flag-ship, U.S.S. Missouri, in Tokyo Bay.'
