9207a The rumour about the washed away bunkers of the Westwall. As known, the entire foreign press was pretending some time ago, that the bunkers of the Westwall were entirely hollowed out and washed away. This idle rumour was however disproved immediately. In the new community film of the German weekly moving pictures, to be seen in all german cinemas from Thursday (10/8), the spectator can observe very clearly, that a hollowing out or washing away, is impossible. Here you see one of the bunkers, constructed directly on the course of a river, on the top of a small hill so that the water never can reach it, neither if there is high water. On the contrary the french bunkers, constructed on the opposite side, liking booths, are situated much lower and therefore more exposed in case of overflow of water (as shows the picture) because they are nearly on the same level as the course of the river.
