Allied supply system in Belgium. U.S. Army engineering supplies are sorted, boxed and loaded onto trucks at this large U.S. depot in Belgium. Belgian civilians assist U.S. soldiers in the work. More than five million tons of mililtary supplies have been moved up to the front since 'D-Day'(June 6, 1944), Allied transport and movement officers announced March 19, 1945. Of this cargo discharged on the Continent, 685,000 tons were unloaded on open beaces. Much of the remaining tonnage poured throughthe great port of Antwerp, Belgium, and over the famous inland waterways almost directly to the front.
