U.S. tank crew's mascot.
U.S. tank crew's mascot. Members of a U.S. Mark IV tank crew are shown with "Invasion", a tame crew which is their mascot. "Invasion", so-called because he turned up on "D-Day" and went with the tank to France, has stayed with the crew during the drive through Normandy. Left to right are Staff Sergeant Paul Yula, Washington, D.C.; Private Peter Audrey Crosby, Clyde, Georgia, and Private Peter Austin Vardaman, Forrest City, Arkansas.
