France welcomes the victors. French civilians toss flowers to U.S. troops in armored vehicles as they advance through the village of St. Sauveur Lendelin. These troops are part of the force who took part in the rapid Allied sweep into Brittany, resulting in the capture of Rennes by U.S. troops August 4, 1944.
