French women work for the U.S. Army. French girls cut patterns from army blankets to make fox-hole boots for front-line U.S. soldiers. The young French women are working in a former school building near Sarreguemines. The boots are filled with straw and are worn over regular footwear to protect the soldier from cold and dampness.
