Boeing B-17 THE YANKS IN THE ETO 'The first real big raid by the Eighth Air Force was on a Focke Wulf plant at Marienburg. It was a long way in - 200 miles beyond Berlin in East Prussia. We pulled the job on a Saturday afternoon and sort of caught the Jerry defenses napping. It was a beautiful job of precision bombing - every stick right on the target. But coming back was rough.
