Fifth Army, the fall of Aquino. Aquino, the town was strongly defended by the enemy, fell to troops of the 8th Army in the early hours of May 25th. A Coy of a british Infantry Regiment entered the town and mopped up German positions. The town had been mined and booby-trapped by the enemy before he retreated.
