Attending Governors' Conference in the U.S. On their way to attend the opening session of the 36th Annual U.S. Governors' Conference are, left to right: Admiral Ernest J. King, Commander in Chief of the U.S. Fleet; General George C. Marshall, Chief of Staff of the U.S. Army; Leverett Saltonstall, Governor of the Eastern U.S. State of Massachusetts, and Dwight Griswold, Governor of the Midwestern U.S. State of Nebraska. The principle subjects discussed at this year's meeting, held in Hershey in the Eastern U.S. State of Pennsylvania, were state plans for the present and post-war period.
