The Iron Cross for West Wall workmen. In the name of the Führer, the Colonel General von Brauchtisch decorated 11 West Wall workmen with the Iron Cross 2nd class. They had distinguished themselves during the constructions of fortifications in the first line and under the fire of the enemy by prudent acting and cold-bloodedbess. Three of them were presented on the birthday of the Führer to the Commander in Chief of the army by the minister of state Dr. Todt. These were: Front leader (SA first leader) Hans Gerhard Dreymann from Göttingen (in uniforme) head worker Franz Hoffmann from Essen (in the centre) and engineer and work leader Karl Göttert from Weisel, district of St. Goarshausen.
