Zu keinem ein Wort! : überleben im Versteck : die Geschichte der Cilly Levitus-Peiser
A biography of Levitus-Peiser, a German Jewish woman born in 1925 in Frankfurt a.M. In November 1938 she and a younger sister left Germany on a "Kindertransport" to Amsterdam, where they found refuge in an orphanage. They were in danger again when the Nazis occupied the Netherlands in 1940. In 1942 deportations of Jews from the Netherlands began. Levitus-Peiser had completed a nurses' training course in a Jewish hospital and was considered indispensable. She managed twice to rescue her younger sister in the last moment. In summer 1943 they went into hiding together, under false identities, and survived. Levitus-Peiser's eldest sister had immigrated to Palestine in 1940; her younger brother and her mother perished in the Holocaust. After the war she married and immigrated to Palestine. 1.
