A German edition of the work written by Heiden in 1939, which he entitled "Nächtlicher Eid" (the manuscript is now in the Zürich Central Library). The book was first published in English translation as "The New Inquisition", and followed by French and Swedish translations, all in the same year - 1939. This is the first German edition. It contains the text of the manuscript (pp. 7-106), annotations by the editors (pp. 107-133), a biography of the life and work of Heiden by Markus Roth (pp. 135-172), and a bibliography (pp. 182-189). 3.
