Löwy/ Cohen Family collection

This collection includes a report about the experiences in Bergen Belsen, family correspondence, family photographs and material about the history of Sombor's Jewish community Katherine Danceney (formerly Cohen) is the daughter of Marika Cohen née Löwy and John Cohen. Marika came from a middle class Jewish family in Sombor, Vojvodina, Serbia. She came to Great Britain in 1939 and she married a John Cohen, who became a professor in psychology at Manchester University (1952-1977). her brother Andrew (Andrija) ended up in Bergen Belsen, about which he wrote an account (2067/1). Her mother, Ella, along with other family members did not survive the war. Open
