Družina Dedijer (1933–1991)

The fond consists of a collection of treatises, newspaper clippings, correspondence, excerpts and copies of material from various archives and literature. The material is organized by topics related to specific policies and events: Tito / Kardelj / Jovanka / Ranković / Djilas / Hebrang / Waldheim / Dedijer / World War II / history of Yugoslavia / the Trieste question / foreign policy / internal tensions / the workings of the Russell Tribunal / the Informbiro / resistance movements in Europe / the Ustasha / the Chetniks / Stalinism / antisemitism / non-alignment / tradition / soccer, etc. The inventory follows the original arrangement of the material, which is not systematic, but individual topics appear in different places. Researchers of the Holocaust will find the file SI AS 1979/488 particularly helpful as it refers to the genocide of the Jews on the territory of Yugoslavia (1941-1945), and the bundle contains a photocopy of a separat of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the Federative People's Republic of Yugoslavia (Federation of Jewish Communities of the Federative People's Republic of Yugoslavia, Belgrade 1957) on the crimes committed by the occupying forces and their collaborators against the Jews in Yugoslavia; excerpts from an essay by Zdenko Löwenthal; a short bibliography on the genocide of the Yugoslav Jews; and some newspaper clippings (e.g. NIN, 11.3.1979). File SI AS 1979/151 refers to the genocide of Roma in Yugoslavia (1941-1945), and the box contains a copy of the decree on Jews and Gypsies (Verordnungsblatt des Militärbefehlshabers in Serbien - List uredba vojnog zapovednika u Srbiji, Beograd, 25.7.1941, No. 16); photocopies of the cover sheet and several pages of the above-mentioned decree; a bundle of handwritten notes on the Chetniks; older photocopies of the typescript of the above-mentioned decree; specified correspondence on the genocide of the Muslims. The file SI AS 1979/155 also contains 2 newspaper clippings with articles about the extermination of Gypsies during the Second World War (Vjesnik, 16.12.1964, and NIN, 29.3.1964) and some handwritten notes. Vladimir Dedijer (Belgrade, December 4, 1914 - Boston, December 1, 1990) graduated from the Faculty of Law with a doctorate in history. Dedijer was a correspondent for several newspapers, member of the National Liberation Front, member of various delegations, columnist, essayist, writer, member of the Russell Tribunal, academic and correspondent for the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
