Notes of U.S. occupation days in Germany
Chester Earl Beaman (1916-2007) was born in Kokomo, Indiana on January 16, 1916 to Court and Ruth (nee Pierce) Beaman. During World War I Chester served as an Army Quartermaster Officer. He married Mary and had a son, Bruce. The diary describes the experiences of Chester E. Beaman in Germany from 1946 to 1947 when he was Chief of Job Classification and Wage Administration for the U.S. Army. Included are descriptions of a visit to the former Dachau concentration camp as well as viewing part of the Nuremburg War Crimes Trials.
