Mirko Tuma collection
Mirko Tuma was born in Prague (Prague, Czech Republic). He was a survivor of Theresienstadt, His mother was also a Holocaust survivor, but his father perished at Auschwitz. Mirko immigrated to the Unites States as a political refugee in 1951. He was a published author of several plays and books of poetry. Consists of material regarding the life and work of Mirko Tuma, a poet, playwright, and critic who survived the Theresienstadt ghetto. Includes photographs, program and script copies, a book entitled "Ghetto našich dnů" about Terezin, and a book of poetry entitled "Rust on a Weather Vane." Also includes newspaper clippings of his post-war theater career and articles about Terezin.
