Founded in 1945, the District National Committee took over the agenda of the defunct District Office of Praha-venkov-jih. In 1949 the district was part of the Praha region and the name of the district was changed to Praha-jih. The district of Praha-jih was abolished and its territory became part of the district of Praha-západ in 1960.

The fonds is incomplete. Of particular interest are documents from a survey of persons of Jewish descent in 1944.

The Ministry of Justice was established in 1918 after the constitution of the first Czechoslovak republic. The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Crafts, Prague was founded 1918 with the independence of Czechoslovakia. In 1942 after the reform of the administration of the Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia its function were taken over by the Ministry of Economy and Work (Ministerstvo hospodářství a práce (1942-1945)).
